Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a site search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns any result. Tensas Parish Court Docket does not keep or log the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site is retained so a reply can be made. The message remains within the organization and is not disclosed outside it unless a legal obligation requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, server and service tools may receive routine technical information about the visit, including:
- The IP address assigned to the device
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is provided
- Page-view timestamps
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device that help measure how visitors use a site. Analytics services may aggregate traffic patterns, such as frequently visited pages and exit paths. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may affect how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate, maintain, and improve site performance
- Send a search request to the provider selected by the visitor
- Assess which reference pages are useful
- Identify and correct technical problems
- Display advertising that may be interest based
No Court-Record Data on File
Tensas Parish Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record data. It provides general information about where parish records are kept, including the Tensas Parish Clerk of Court, Sixth Judicial District Court, and the eClerks LA statewide index. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or records about other people.
Louisiana court-record access is separate from this visitor-data policy. R.S. 44:31 and R.S. 44:32 address public-record examination, copies, fees, and the custodian process. Code of Civil Procedure art. 251 identifies clerk custody and certified-copy authority, while art. 14.1 recognizes electronic records and requires filers to protect private information.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes are operated by outside providers. Information entered into a provider’s tool is governed by that provider’s privacy practices, retention rules, and sharing choices. Tensas Parish Court Docket does not control those policies; review the provider’s terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to clerk pages, trial-court resources, statewide indexes, legal-aid resources, and outside search services. Once a link leads to another site, that site’s privacy policy governs the visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may track activity across websites in order to provide targeted advertising. That activity occurs on the partner’s systems, not on the Tensas Parish Court Docket systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be disclosed to the following categories when relevant:
- Search partners that process a visitor’s query
- Analytics services used for traffic and performance measurement
- Advertising networks that place ads on the site
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, and the site cannot guarantee that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor’s information is submitted, it will be deleted when the matter is identified.
Your Data Rights
Louisiana public-records law governs records held by a public custodian, not all visitor data held by a private reference site. Depending on location and applicable law, a visitor may have additional privacy rights. At a minimum, a visitor may request:
- A copy of information held about that visitor
- Correction of information that is inaccurate
- Deletion of personal data, where applicable
- Withdrawal from certain data-processing practices, where applicable
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised from time to time. The updated version will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
